Tempest will work closely with you and your staff to develop a residency that uses theatre and creative dramatics as a teaching tool to work on various subjects and learning standards. From creating multi-cultural presentations to developing math skills through drama. Creative Drama is a wonderful way to explore curriculum while also addressing the learning standards.

For 2008-2009, Tempest celebrates the times and works of writers Lewis Carroll and William Shakespeare through these events.

45-75 minute workshops are available for all grade levels preK-6. Artists can teach up to 3 45-minute workshops per day.

Gepetto's Workshop
In this basic introduction to Puppetry, students make a puppet and learn to bring it to life.
Mask & Mime
Students explore the use of mask & movement in theatre.
Be a Clown
Students explore the wacky world of clowns in this basic introduction to physical comedy while learning the history of clowns.
Creative Drama & Improvisation
This workshop brings the magic of theatre to life as students learn to use their imaginations through theatre games and activities.
Story Theatre
Students create characters as they learn to act out stories from classic tales.
Shakespeare for Kids
Students explore the wonderful world of Shakespeare through kid-friendly exercises in pentameter, prose and dramatic readings.

Tempest Productions

Select a 5-day, 10-day or 15-day residency. Have a teaching artist work with your students in a series of workshops to further expand the arts experience. The artist will work with your students for up to 3 hours per day. Each residency is designed to meet the specific needs of your classroom while integrating the learning standards into the residency.
